Chael Sonnen Confronts Gangster Rap’s 50 Cent Backstage After Social Media Beef
With talks between 50 Cent and “Rampage” Jackson somewhat slowing down, a lot of speculation is flying around about whether the rapper will ever enter the cage.
The 42-year-old has been around the sport of MMA for some time now and has shot his mouth off at numerous points claiming he would be an awesome addition to a top-level card.
He even claimed he would destroy Conor McGregor in the cage. Up until recently a Bellator contract to fight “Rampage” seemed plausible, even likely to come to fruition.
However, this now seems a little less likely. But in recent weeks it seems another suitor is keen to jump into the cage to fight Fiddy. And it is none other than veteran 41-year-old Chael Sonnen.
The two have been in a war of words since a beef was created at Bellator 199. The incident was backstage where 50 Cent spotted Jon Jones and posed for a photograph. Sonnen sensed an opportunity to mix with some high profile celebs and jumped into the frame. Here is the photo:
Well, Fiddy took offence to the photobombing, brutally tweeted the following, which Sonnen cut back at:
Me and some tall dude trying to get Filthy Scent on the Cyclone roller-coaster & Coney Island.

It seems the incident could have ramifications inside the cage with pressure mounting for the two to settle their differences professionally.
50 Cent and Sonnen met again, backstage at Bellator 200. After the meeting, the following appeared on Instagram.
l ran into your man @Chaelsonnen, l told him look your gonna fight for me eventually. l don’t care about shit you said, lt means nothing. 🤨get the strap
For those that don’t know, ‘Get The Strap’ is a phrase that 50 is pedalling as his own, even going so far as to apply for a trademark.
The violent connotation of the phrase, a ‘strap’ being slang for a ‘gun’. 50’s rep said in defence of Fiddy, “Months ago, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson filed to trademark the phrase ‘Get The Strap,’ a slogan he has been posting across all of his social media platforms…
So the record is clear, Mr. Jackson does not condone or promote the use of violence against anyone. ‘Get The Strap’ is a playful phrase used by Mr. Jackson to punctuate absurd and outrageous situations.”
