Fired Cop Fights A Hulking Bouncer For The Chance To Win Back His Job
If there is one thing that makes Rough ‘N’ Rowdy interesting, it is the colourful backstories that many of the challengers have. When a fighting championship has few rules regarding matchups, skill or ability, it has to look elsewhere to make the action as engaging as possible. And that is where the colourful character traits of the competitors come out. The stories are just awesome and the clip below features one of the best the franchise has mustered to date.
As the tale goes, Ryan Young, a local police officer was fired from his job on the force when the mayor caught wind of the fact that he was fighting in RNR. The mayor did not think it was a good look for a member of the force to be engaging in such a pastime and gave the order for him to the stripped of his badge and his gun.
Young had been due to fight a skater boy in at RNR 4, but apparently after hearing he was going to be fighting a member of the constabulary, the skater ran for the hills leaving a more than ample replacement. So Officer Young was to face an absolute monster of a bouncer instead.
Entering the arena holding a sweatshirt with “Reinstate Me” printed on it, Young entered to rapturous applause and support by the Ohio crowd. The announcer made a huge deal of the back story garnering cheers which were in stark contrast to the boos and jeering dished out when the bouncer’s name was read out.
Well, the adrenalin was pumping and from the opening bell, Young came out throwing absolute haymakers. The bouncer was forced to defend as best he could, but the 230lb ex-cop was not in the mood to muck around. The haymakers cannoned into the bouncer’s jaw and head with little resistance. Within 20 seconds the bouncer was in serious trouble, out on his feet. The fight was called out after an absolute barrage of a first round.
