Random Conor Fan Sneaks Into Octagon To Protect Him During Post Fight Mayhem

We’ve all heard the saying “fake it till you make it.”

The idea being, that if you pretend to know what you’re doing people will think you’re doing the right thing.

It’s the same philosophy that lets you get away with not doing anything at work provided you look busy.

But how far can the concept take you?

Well, it seems one guy was content to try his luck and see just how far his nerve could take him on one of the biggest nights of the year.

David Martin is an MMA fan just like you and me who saw an opportunity during one of the craziest moments in combat sports history to make his way into the cage.

As the chaos erupted following Khabib jumping out of the cage after his win, Marting took advantage of the confusion to sneak into the cage.

The Irishman Martin later explained that he felt compelled to get into the cage in an attempt to protect his countrymen during the madness. He said during an interview with For The Win.

“I thought Russia was attacking Ireland. I thought a bunch of Russians were jumping in and this guy (McGregor) was tired and beaten down from the fight and was being attacked by what I thought were a bunch of Russian fans. I needed to step in. I was thinking my country was calling for me right now and I’m going in.

He also took to Twitter after his antics to show his families hilarious reaction to seeing him in the cage during the biggest fight of the year.

Best of all, this guy wasn’t the first person to see how far a fake press pass and some confidence would take him.

British YouTuber Zak Alsop has made a career out of managing to sneak into high profile events.

From managing to get backstage at the London press conference for the money fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. Managing to actually get in the ring following Anthony Joshua’s fight with Joseph Parker earlier this year the kid is yet another example that enough nerve you can pretty much get anywhere.
