Colby Covington Just Got Ran Up On By Kamaru Usman And Ali In The Casino

Nigerian-American Kamaru Usman created history overnight with his tight decision victory over Tyron Woodley for the Welterweight Championship at UFC 235. But after his press conference and subsequent celebrations the star is now back in the headlines for the wrong reasons. It seems and Usman and his crew have a way of finding trouble and in the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, a sighting of Colby Covington led to an altercation that really put a dampener on the star’s victory.

A video obtained by TMZ sports shows the Welterweight Champ in a dark green tracksuit along with his manager Ali Abdel-Aziz somewhere in the Palms where they have crossed palms with Covington and his posse. It had been announced overnight that the two would face off for Usman’s first title defense in the coming months. The pair was nearly involved in a physical stoush as Usman left the Octagon at UFC 235.

This is fresh on the heels of them having to be separated post fight as Usman was leaving the Octagon after defeating Tyron Woodley to win the UFC welterweight title at UFC 235:

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the UFC informed Covington he will be Usman’s first challenger at a date still to be determined.

A bystander who may be associated with Covington is heard telling the Usman camp to calm down, justifying his request by alerting them to the fact that there are impressionable children in the line. The example set by two grown men is pretty ordinary in light of the situation. The request to take things down a notch falls on deaf ears as an alleged bodyguard lunges at Covington.

Covington wisely stands as far back as he can from the giant beast because he would likely be squashed. That is when the attention is drawn to Abdel-Aziz who beckons at Covington to come closer. When he inches forward, Aziz throws a punch at him but doesn’t really follow through. It is up to Usman and two bystanders to come between the parties to settle everyone down.
