Khabib’s Cousin Reveals Facial Injuries ‘Caused By Conor McGregor’
As soon as Khabib Nurmagomedov had finished wrenching Conor McGregor’s neck he began to parade around the octagon as any decent fighter with the weight of the world off his shoulders would. The man was still undefeated, 27-0, currently the most successful fighter on the circuit and had solidified his status as the Lightweight Champion, the most hotly contested division in the UFC.
But something distracted him, as the maroon coats of the Nevada State Athletic Commission entered the cage, Khabib was seen to point at a member of the McGregor Team. Breaking free from officials, The Russian slipped over the cage an leapt like Spiderman into the crowd, directly at McGregor’s BJJ coach and sparring partner Dillon Danis.
Security was fast to act and the act was quelled almost immediately. But at the same time, two other men entered the cage and went at Conor McGregor. One of the men from Nurmagomedov’s team were Zubaira Tukhugov, a featherweight with a 3-1 record in the UFC, who was set to take on McGregor’s sparring partner, Artem Lobov this month. Dana White, speaking post-event said that this fight would now not go ahead. Another who was caught up in the scrap was a cousin, Abubakar Nurmagomedov.
Abubaker is himself, of a fighting background. The 28-year-old is a welterweight Sambo fighter in the Professional Fighters League and also a Combat Sambo World Championships bronze medalist and Russian national combat sambo champion. Most recently, the Russian defeated Jonatan Westin at PFL 6 in New Jersey. Given his credentials, it is a wonder that Conor was able to get his hands on him after submitting in the cage.
Abu copped a fist to the face by a revved-up McGregor, finding a second wind after such a demanding exertion. Posting a video to social media, he detailed his injuries at the hands of the Irishman. Check out his emotional post below and the punches that likely caused it 2nd video)
