Millionaire Finds Out The Sons He’d Raised For 21 Years Aren’t His
A multi-millionaire business owner has taken his wife to court after finding out that the kids he has raised for the last 20 years weren’t biologically his.
55-year-old Richard Mason grew his wealth after co-founding MoneySupermarket.com, a price comparison website that had a revenue of over £300 million (~$380 million) in 2017 according to Wikipedia.
The businessman first found out that he wasn’t the children’s father after being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2016. After a DNA test revealed that he had no biological link to the eldest son, now 23, and the twins, now 19 that he had raised with ex-wife Kate. A further test led to Richard being told by doctors that not only was he infertile, but he had been since birth so there was no way the children could have been his.
This shocking truth was only revealed to Mason after all three children were well on their way to adulthood, and 10 years after he and Kate had divorced.
Mr Mason’s ex-wife has now been ordered to pay him £250,000 cash (~£300,000) in a case that will allow her to keep the true identity of the children’s father secret. Richard has stated that he believes that a man who Kate had an ongoing affair with during the late 90s is the likeliest candidate to be the children’s biological father, though no tests have been done to confirm this as of yet.
Just read the story about the guy who owns compare the market, he’s got an illness and during the treatment he discovered his 3 adult sons aren’t his biological children, where do you even start with that news? 😭

The since-ongoing court battle has let to a fracture between Richard and the children that he helped raise. While it has been reported that two of the children are no longer in contact with him, a third is still said to be in touch and sent a heartwarming message to Richard.
“Dad, as I explained from the beginning you would never not be dad to me regardless of all this. Of course I’ll stay in touch, that will never change… I’m always here for you too and you will always be Dad. Love you x.”
Richard told the Daily Mail that the news has broken him emotionally.
I still regard them as my boys even though I’m not their biological father, and I miss them so much.I still see what the boys are doing on Facebook and it’s heart-wrenching. It’s all been taken away from me.”
Richard has since launched an appeal for information about the boys’ biological father, with a £5000 (~$6300) reward available for anyone with information that leads to him.
