Michael “Venom” Page Shatters Opponents Jaw In 3 Places
Michael “Venom” Page may not have stepped inside the cage since 2016. But when he did, he was a formidable opponent. The tall, lanky Brit is known for mixing up a number of fighting styles to create his unique brand.
He describes it as “hands down kickboxing style” created by a blend of taekwondo, karate, and kung fu. How do you even match up against that? The undefeated star has two fights left on his Bellator contract and is scheduled to fight David Rickels on At Bellator 200.
One of his more memorable knockouts came when he quelled a ‘Cyborg’ Santos advance with one of the most solid knees in MMA history. The brutal strike was awarded ‘Knockout of the Year’ by several publications including Sherdog, Bleacher Report, MMA Junkie and the Score, as well as The World MMA Awards. Santos’ skull was fractured and his head caved in as a result. You can see that here:
But the below video is, in our opinion, even more brutal. This came at Bellator 144. When “Venom” came up against Charlie Ontiveros. The fight was part of the main card on the night and fought in front of a full Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. The fight only lasted a few minutes with Page making a savage series of elbows count leading to a TKO decision.
But what was revealed post-fight made the sickening gravity of the knockout sink in. After scans, it was revealed at Page had broken Ontiveros’ jaw in three places. If you listen to the audio, you can hear the cracking as his elbows land – it is brutal!
Ontiveros never really looked in the fight at all. The American looked at odds with PAge’s unique style from the get-go.
