Basketballer Threatens To Beat Up Fan: “I’ll F*** You up, You And Your Wife”
When fans attend any sport, they are there to spectate and to support their team.
There are strict rules surrounding actually interacting with players and the level of antagonism that members of the public are allowed to give to the players.
And understandably so. At the end of the day, players are humans too and should not be subjected to abuse at the hands of others, regardless of their standing.
So when NBA star Russell Westbrook got into a stoush with a fan in 2018, he went absolutely nuclear.
Westbrook is a gun player for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In addition to scoring in excess of 24 points per game on average, Westbrook has been MVP of the league and is an 8-time NBA all-star. His standing in the competition makes what was said to him even more appalling and disrespectful.
“How it started was, a young man and his wife in the stands told me ‘to get down on my knees like you used to.’ To me, that’s just completely disrespectful, to me, I think it’s racial, and I think it’s inappropriate.”
Westbrook’s response can be seen below and shows him not holding back one single bit, yelling:
“I swear to god, I’ll f— you up. You and your wife, I’ll f— you up. Promise you on everything I love, I promise you!”
Westbrook went on to say that this was not isolated and called for harsher restriction on antisocial spectators:
“I just think that there’s gotta be something done, there’s gotta be some consequences for those type of people that come to the game just to say and do whatever they want to say. I don’t think it’s fair to the players, not just to me but I don’t think it’s fair to the players.”
