This 320-Pound 6-Foot-8 Beast Has Just Signed Up For His First MMA Fight

The MMA world is about to be turned on its head with the introduction of a new face that has the potential to win fans all over the world.

His name is Martyn Ford and if you think he looks like a big dude, you’re right!

He is a 6’8”, 145kg (320lb) tatted up unit. In an astounding success story, Ford was training to be a professional cricket player when a glute injury struck him down as a 17-year-old confining him to the gym.

This sanctuary proved to be his making, with the now-33-year-old stacking on a severe amount of size in 15 years.

The Brit had this to say about his injury:

“Think about what you don’t want to become. Negative reinforcement is a great tool to kick start the body into action! The fear of being a failure is almost like the ‘fight or flight’ that will either crush you or push you”

At his peak, he was smashing 8000 calories per day and struggled to find clothes to fit his gigantic frame. His training regimen has changed, with the star, who once upon a time, trained in BJJ just twice per week, upping this in preparation for a debut in KSW.

“I’ve love almost all forms of martial arts”

“To come in here and have the opportunity to put what I practice into this environment and this cage is an exceptional opportunity for myself.”

To have a fighter of Ford’s impressive stature enter the competition, but it sounds like this guy is working hard on the skillset to match. Being versed in a variety of different martial arts, in theory, means he will be able to swing styles to counter some of the best in the competition. Bear in mind that he will be fighting born fighters, but if he can harness his potential, his size will go a long way to taking down some big names.

He is set to debut in early 2019.
