UFC Has Once Again Been Rocked by an Ugly Post Fight Incident Backstage
Darren Till faced off against Jorge Masvidal tonight in the main event of UFC London with both men looking to cement themselves at the top of the UFC welterweight division.
The fight also saw the newest UFC superstar, Ben Askren, quite literally waiting in the wings looking to take on the winner. Askren travelled to London prior to the fight and made it very clear that he was hoping Till would win to set up a fight between the two of them but had no problems facing Masvidal if he got his hand raised.

With Till headlining the event in his native country, Askren made sure to make his presence felt in the UK. The American stole the show at yesterday’s Q&A session, where he went back and forth with a raucous British crowd.
Despite the ongoing media circus, Till insisted that his primary focus was, in fact, his opponent Masvidal. This fight marked the first time Till had stepped into the Octagon since his devastating submission loss to recently-dethroned UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley back at UFC 228.
Masvidal meanwhile came into the fight looking to rebound from a two-fight losing streak, having failed to get his hand raised, despite having success in decisions against top ten welterweights Damien Maia and Stephen Thompson.
Despite the clear animosity in the air around the main event fighters and Ben Askren, Till and Masvidal appeared to get along pretty well throughout fight week.
After having had issues making the 171lbs weight limit in the past, there were fears among MMA fans that Till would struggle to make the welterweight limit. Although he would need the towel, the Englishman hit the scale at 171lbs.
The main event for #UFCLondon is official as both Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal made the welterweight limit 💪. Who you got?

Those good feelings were put aside when to two stepped in the Octagon, however, as both men knew that a win could propel them into title contention.
The main event was a brutal back and forth affair with both fighters trading devastating blows, but in the second round it was Masvidal who landed the telling blow.
Masvidal put Till to sleep with a left hand from hell that saw the Englishmen out cold before he hit the canvas.
Oh my god! What a massive knockout for Jorge Masvidal! I hope Darren Till is okay after that one. #UFCLondon

But the stunning victory has been overshadowed by the ugly scenes that unfolded once Masvidal walked out of the Octagon and into the backstage arena.
In the middle of his post-fight interview, Masvidal began jawing with Leon Edwards who had earned the split decision win in the penultimate fight of the night.
Things escalated when Masvidal walked away from the interview and telling Edwards “say it to my face”.
As the two men came face-to-face, Masvidal let his fists fly and landed several blows before they were separated by security.
